In trying to capture how I view life right now and my place in it, it occurred to me that the celebrated water-lily serves as a very good comparison.
It is a flower that rises out of the muddy waters (my past life) and gently floats on the water’s surface (taking my present existence in my stride).
They symbolize beauty, purity and innocence, as they can rise above the murky waters without blemish.
Water lilies represent the transcendence of the material world and purity in spite of the flower’s darker surroundings.
I believe that we all can identify with the water-lily and trust that we all continue to blossom and know that we occupy a central place in that pond or lake and that we are worthy of it.
